Did you know that in the state of South Carolina each year there are over 140,000 traffic collisions. In November 2022, Forbes advisor posted an article on “The most Dangerous States for Drivers“, https://www.forbes.com/advisor/legal/most-dangerous-states-for-drivers/, South Carolina was rated number 2. Distracted driving according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol caused just over 20,000 of those accidents. 3000 of those accidents resulted in the loss of life. Distracted driving is preventable!
Distracted driving is rated just as high as driving impaired. Research shows that when answering a phone while driving a reaction can be delayed just as much as having a blood alcohol concentration of the legal limit, 0.08 Texting and driving is 6x’s more dangerous than drunk driving according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
